Eileen T. Breslin, PhD, RN, FAAN
Dr. Breslin has been the Dean for the School of Nursing at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio as of April 2008. Prior to UT Health, she served as Dean of the School of Nursing at the University of Massachusetts – Amherst and held the position of interim dean for the School of Public Health & Health Sciences. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, has been recognized as a Distinguished Practitioner in Nursing by the National Academies of Practice in 2000, and was inducted into the American Academy of Nursing in 2009. She has served as President and Board Chair of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing and as President of the Texas Association of Deans and Directors of Professional Nursing Programs. She received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Northern Arizona University, Master of Science degree from the University of Arizona and her Ph.D. from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver.
